How dark is ‘dark advertising’? We audited Facebook, Google and other platforms to find out

Today we have a new article in The Conversation from our ARC Linkage Project on the promotion of alcohol on social media. This short explainer piece is on an audit colleagues in the Linkage team undertook on what social media platforms actually share when it comes to the advertising they circulate on these platforms. The bottom line is we need platforms to be much more transparent in how advertising circulates in these spaces, as it is vital that we can see advertising in a transparent way that allows scrutiny for the public interest:
