A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of participating in a meeting of the AHRC funded ’Interdisciplinary Network for the Study of Subcultures, Popular Music and Social Change’ at Liverpool in the UK. This event was titled ‘In/Between Spaces’, and I presented some of my work around vernacular subcultures (taken from this forthcoming book on Youth Cultures in Australia) and also some collaborative work I’ve been doing with Sian Lincoln on sustained Facebook use.
It was wonderful to meet with both established and emerging scholars doing youth research in the UK. I’ve storified a few tweets from the backchannel after the break.
